Senegalese businessman Tamsir Ousmane Traoré has taken a major step toward building a regional logistics network by acquiring Kamtar, an Ivorian digital freight company backed by Saviu Ventures.
The deal, concluded in October 2025, gives his logistics technology company, Logidoo a controlling stake in Kamtar and extends its footprint into one of the region’s busiest transport markets.
The acquisition adds Côte d’Ivoire to Logidoo’s existing operations in Senegal, Morocco, and several other African countries, giving the Dakar-headquartered firm a stronger base along key regional corridors.
Expanding the network
Founded in 2018 by Ivorian entrepreneurs, Kamtar built a platform that connects companies with verified truck drivers to make cargo movement faster and easier to track. The firm has worked with more than 40 large clients in construction, agriculture, and manufacturing, generating over €17 million ($19.7 million) in total revenue since launch.
Logidoo’s founder and chief executive, Tamsir Ousmane Traoré, said bringing Kamtar into the group allows it to strengthen its main routes connecting Senegal, Morocco, and Côte d’Ivoire. “This move helps us deliver quicker, more dependable freight services across the region,” Traoré said.
Africa’s logistics tech space has been seeing a wave of consolidation, as startups combine to gain scale and navigate the continent’s patchy infrastructure and varying regulations. Logidoo’s acquisition fits that trend, bringing together two operators that share similar technology-driven models.
Linking trade corridors
The company now operates in more than a dozen African markets, offering digital freight matching, customs services, and multimodal transport. Its model blends technology with local management teams, aiming to help smaller carriers and shippers cut costs and operate with more transparency.
The addition of Kamtar also gives Logidoo access to a ready pool of drivers, customers, and logistics data in a key regional economy. It comes at a time when cross-border trade is expanding under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which is pushing up demand for efficient transport connections between West and North Africa.
